CP+ 2026 | Exhibition Report

Web editor Zach here! My first day at CP+ 2026 is in the books, and it was quite a busy one, visiting all of the exhibition experiences!
For this first report, let me just go over some of the major highlights from the event. I will make further articles from specific booths (or aspects, like the film photography renaissance I saw this year). Stay tuned for those! Follow along on our instagram story, too.
First Exhibition Stop for CP+ 2026 – Fujifilm

While Fujifilm wasn’t literally the first place I visited, I spent probably the most time here.

First attraction of this booth would be the Fujifilm Instax mini Evo Video/Instant Camera hybrid. My first impression seeing this was “what’s this even for?” Then, I remembered my golden rule of photography – have fun with it! That’s exactly what this camera is…fun and innovative. I received two complimentary “cheki” (the Japanese word for instant photo) including a QR that featured a video I took.

I spent more time looking at the different cameras at the Fujifilm booth. The GFX100RF (review can be read here!) was prominent.

The always sold-out X100VI had a line behind it at the touch-and-try.

I additionally played with some telephoto lenses, but I will make an article about that later.

Next Stop – The Nikon Exhibition

As a Nikon user, I always love coming by here. Thank you to the Nikon reps for recognizing me too, and thanks for the kind words on the ongoing Nikkor Z Lens Review! At the Nikon Exhibition at CP+2026, I beelined it for the brand-new Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S II. The rep at the counter explained the new “silky smooth autofocus” motor, but for me I was very impressed by how light this lens is.

They also let me try out the 50mm f/1.2 and the 105mm f/2.8 MC macro camera. The 50mm 1.2 lens in particular is on my radar for a future purchase!

Other Exhibits at the Nikon Booth – the Zf and the “Playground” where I tried out the Plena lens!

I will make a post on instagram later featuring the Nikon Playground exhibit. This is where you can take whatever lens combo with you for a few minutes on a mini photowalk.
The Nikon ZR
We made a review of the ZR recently. Read it here! I am growing more and more impressed with this camera every day.

This camera can switch between shutter speed and shutter angle. Videographers should be very excited to try this out. Not to mention the R3D LUTs installed in the ZR!
Next CP+ 2026 Exhibit – the Sony Booth

Sony showcased their new Alpha 7V. The rep explained this camera is a great first camera for those learning professional photography. Professionals however will absolutely love the features in this camera. They had a high-speed RC car display which I initially struggled to photograph the cars.

However, once the rep activated the motion tracking autofocus in the A7V, I immediately found success. These cameras are great for sports photographers, if you ask me!

The A9III and its global shutter

Next Stop – Canon and their mysterious new analog camera

Before we get to the prototype Canon debuted, let’s look at the new Canon EOS releases since 2025.

A videographer friend of mine bought the Canon EOS C50 recently. He told me he loves how compact but versatile it is.

I love this color option for the EOS R50V. Read a guest review of the R50V here.

The Canon EOS R6 Mark III is Canon’s ultimate multi-use camera. Videographers and photographers alike can use this for any project!

What is this new Canon prototype?

The biggest line in the Canon exhibition at CP+ was behind this sign. I waited for about 15 minutes before I got close enough to see what it is. Entering stage left onto the ongoing analog camera scene, meet this Prototype Analog Concept Digital Camera!

It’s like a mini TLR camera, or like a mini Hasselblad.

I took arguably the most awkward selfie ever with this camera. Fun idea though. Can’t wait for its official debut.
Final Stop of the Day – OM System
I say this is the final stop but that’s just for this article. Like I mentioned earlier I will have another article about lenses, especially telephoto lenses. However, when one thinks of telephoto lenses, one should think of OM System and Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Speaking of the cosmos…OM System also showed off the OM-3 Astro, designed for starry sky photography!

Back to M43 lenses…OM System debuted the M. Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8 lens last year. The furthest zoom range on this is 400mm in 35mm equivalency. This is an incredibly compact setup for shooting far away. Take a look below!

I also reunited with a very enjoyable review I did last summer at the beaches, the OM-5 Mk II. I absolutely love the outdoors beige color.

If you ask me, this camera plus a 50-200mm 2.8 zoom lens would be the ultimate bird watching backpacking camera combination.

Lots of Fun Still to Come!
Day one was incredibly fun and full of learning. However, Day 2 is going to be packed with more incredible camera gear. In particular, I look forward to covering the exploding renaissance of film cameras and related gear!
